  • Hi! I’m Amber, a Certified Independent Travel Advisor with FORA Travel. I have connections with top hotels and travel partners. I’m here to make your trip easier. I handle the planning, bookings, and logistics so you can just focus on enjoying it. Instead of having to call Expedia or another third party travel service and taking to someone random, you have me to help you with anything trip related.

Think of a travel advisor like an interior designer. Sure, you could buy furniture on your own. But maybe the couch doesn’t fit, the colors don’t match, or you only see the big-box stores that advertise the most. An interior designer knows the right makers, sources quality pieces, and makes sure everything comes together perfectly.

That’s what I do for travel. You could spend hours searching online, but I know the right partners, compare the details, and make sure your trip feels seamless. The best part? My expertise is included when you book — like getting a luxury service you’d expect to pay extra for, at no extra cost to you.

  • Booking with Tide + Timber Travel means getting a wildlife professional, nature lover, and travel advisor in one. I’ve spent over 8 years in school and conducting research about many different species in the Chesapeake Bay including blue crabs, Northern Snakehead, river herring, and more. As a biologist, I’m familiar with our waterways and can provide seasonal and biological information about different species in these regions! I personally grew up spending time outdoors with my family fishing and camping frequently. I truly enjoy discussing nature and wildlife with others.

If this is your first time taking little ones on adventurous activities, I have multiple environmental education certifications from a masters level degree program including Project Learning Tree, ProjectWILD, and AquaticWILD. Please let me know if you’re interested in educational materials for trip related activities.

I truly enjoy planning. My goal is making travel, whether local or somewhere new, easier and make nature accessible for everyone.

  • No — my services are covered by travel partners, so you don’t pay extra. If you’d like full service planning outside of general bookings such as dining reservations, customized interaries, check-ins, and more, those services and descriptions are available here.

  • Sure. However, I can save you time, get you extras you might not find online, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. By booking with me, you can get VIP treatment – first-hand knowledge, priority room upgrades, preferred rates, hotel credits, and free breakfast. Plus, I can leverage the collective knowledge of a community of travel advisors to curate a unique trip for you.

  • Online prices can look different depending on the day or the package. I’ll always explain the options so you know what’s included (and what’s not). Some of these rates may not include the perks that you get when booking with me as your travel advisor.

  • Great! You can be as involved in planning as you like. Bring me what you’ve found, and I’ll set it up, make it smoother, and add the perks. Working with me also provides an extra layer of support if you need assistance with anything trip related.
